In a heavily industrialized and military world, a factory worker, Alex, gets suddenly sick. Soon his fever brings him visions of a strange world. After he recovers and discovers that more people have the same symptoms and dreams, he starts investigating. A strange disease allows people to momentarily visit a parallel world where their childhood's book characters have evolved into a complex fantasy society. Pinnochio, Alice in Wonderland, Little Prince, Little Red Hood....The doctors call this place Pirexia, and they realize people can drag objects from there into the real world. These objects have magical properties. Like many others, Alex gets addicted to visiting Pirexia. He tries to stay as long as possible, but it has a cost, and his health and body start failing. Everything changes when the army discovers what´s happening and arranges an invasion to dig out the resources from this magical realm. Alex will have to force his health to the limit to help his friends find a cure that will close the bridge between both worlds, saving Pirexia but keeping him trapped forever in the real world.
